A snow ?

Lastnight, when I went upstair after finish tidying up the kitchen, Ryan was playing at MIL's room (of course MIL was not at home, so he can play happily there). He took out a white boardfoam from the thermopot's box that I kept at MIL's bedroom. The whole floor was in a mess..look like a snow is falling. His daddy agreed to tidy up for him...so we just let him play with it while me & his daddy was busy surfing net searching for some interior designs stuffs. Ryan was playing happily, using his small fingers to dig out the foam into a white snow.At first, he stood up...I guess he started to get tiring and at last he sat on top of a box. Is it a new creation by Ryan?? I better stop him from playing it..or else next time he will dare to do it again & I have to clean up the mess.

New Dish - Fish Maw Tauco

Fish maw is actually the air bladder of large fish, the function of which is to regulate water and oxygen flow so that the fish can ascend or descend in the water. The fish maw is also regarded as a nourishing tonic that helps blood circulation and beneficial to the general health.

Today, apart from cooking the Beehoon Miding, I cooked another dish : Fish Maw Tauco. All the while I always cooked FishMaw Fishball soup. Never try to cook it with Tauco. Since my sis told me ,it is nice to cook with tauco...so let's give a try.

Lastweek, I did cooked FishMaw Tauco with prawn, but today fridge has no prawn,so I mixed it with long bean. Hope hubby will like this dishes......see what comments he is goin to give me tonight when he eats.

New Dish - MeeHoon Miding

In my previous blog, I did write up about Belacan Miding...Today I cooked another version which is called BeeHoon Miding.
The ingredients and method are exactly the same. I just added BeeHoon (soaked in warm water) and some sliced ginger. By adding some sliced ginger, I found the smell of the dish is even better.

Happy Cooking !!

New Dish - Belacan Miding

Have you ever hear of Paku Miding ( a kind of vegetable )?? Actually I never eat this vege till I married my hubby and move back to Sibu. One day, MIL cooked this vege, I found it so weird...looks scary to me. But then I saw hubby and MIL keep eating, so let's give a try. At last I fall in love with this paku miding.

It is nice to cook with Belacan, add some chillies and the taste is yummy. This morning I went to wet market and I saw this Paku Miding vege. Bought some and tonight I cooked it as one of the dishes for dinner.

And here is a recipe for Belacan Miding :-

Ingredients

-About 500 grammes of paku miding (pluck tips only)

-About 20 to 40 grammes of belacan

-5 cloves garlic

-5 cloves shallots

-About 30 grammes of dried prawns (pre-soaked for 15 minutes)

-5 red chillies (remove seed if you prefer it less spicy)

-3 tablespoons warm water

- 3 tablespoons cooking oil

Method

1.Pound or blend belacan, garlic, shallots, dried prawns and red chillies.

2.Heat 2 tablespoons oil in wok and saute belacan mix till aromatic (approximately 1 minute). Add another tablespoon of oil if belacan mix too dry or begin to burn.

3.Add miding to belacan mix and stir-fry briskly. Add water and continue stir frying till water almost dried up (but miding is moist).

NB: Can also cook this paku miding with beehoon. Soak the meehoon before frying together with paku miding.

My New Guitar

Ryan has been fancied about guitar lately ... he watched BJ playing a guitar at one of BJ's song (from Barney VCD-Rock N Roll Star). When he heard that song, he will put his hand at his tummy and pretend playing a guitar, shaking his head left and right.

A few days ago, MIL bought him a guitar. He was so happy, playing around with his new guitar. He tried to hang the guitar at his neck...then walk around and around happily in the living room pretending that he is BJ too.

You see ... a little BJ sit happily in the sofa with his new guitar. Just hope Ryan will takecare this guitar properly(sometimes he likes to bang and anyhow throw his toy).

Let's make a Guess ???

Why am I posting this 2 pictures ?? Lastnight when I was busy preparing dinner for Ryan, he took out his colour pencil and start to put them into the red stool. When he saw me walk to the living room, he showed it to me and said 'kek kek kek', I was thinking awhile and looked at the stool....Oh, then I knew that he was trying to tell me he make a cake by using the colour pencils.

Then he started to clap hand and sing la la la la, he also asked me to sing a song ... since he was so happy, I sang a Birthday Song while he was clapping his hands.

I called his daddy to take out camera and snapped this pictures ... Ryan also made a pose in front of his own self made birthday cake. Do you think it looks like a "birthday cake"????

** While drinking water **

One afternoon, I was thinking snap some Ryan's pictures while he was drinking water before nap time. This is how the conversation going on :-

Mummy : Ryan, mummy snap some pics for Ryan.
Ryan : 'Ok Ok' (he can say quite clearly).... then he faster grab his water bottle, then walk here n there in the bedroom while drinking his water.
Mummy : Ryan, be good boy..
lie down, dun walk here n there...he then make funny pose for me.

Nowadays, I am having a hard time to snap good pic of Ryan as he can't stop moving & most of the pics not so clear.

Virus is COMING ........ Again

I have recovered from my flu the next day I visited doctor. Yesterday night I noticed Ryan kept sniffing, his nose is bit watery inside. Oh GOSH....*** don't tell me Ryan kena flu virus from me. I checked out the fridge for flu medicine...oh oh..... don't have. Since his condition is not that bad, he still can played the whole night actively. So I will see how his condition tomorrow. Last night he slept very late almost 12 midnite.
This morning Ryan woke up around 9am, he still look active and sometimes will sniff. So after taking his breakfast, I just use warm water to wipe clean his body and change clothes for him.
Everything is fine with him...he played as usual, his appetite also no change. But I still worry coz flu can lead to other sickness too. So tonight after dinner, hubby & I brought Ryan to Dr.Law's clinic. Same time I asked doctor about rashes appeared on Ryan's faces. I noticed the rashes appeared since chicken pox injection. According to doctor, rashes is caused by skin allergics..nothing to do with chicken pox injection. So I better pay full attention on Ryan's foods recently..wanna see what food that caused his skin allergic, will it be egg/peanut/titbits/french fries,etc....???

Dr.Law prescribed 2 skin creams + 2 liquid medicine (for flu + allergy) for Ryan.It cost RM48 for whole medication. Daddys wallet have another big hole again(within a week spent RM100 for Ryan + Mummy). After reach home, I feed Ryan the medicine. Lucky he did not make noise while taking his medicine. I pretend drinking the medicine and said: Ryan, it taste like Scotts Emulsion....you see mommy also eat lol. Then he opened his mouth and drink the medicine + water. Good Boy, Ryan!!

Hope Ryan will recover soon !!

Flu Virus Attack

Flu virus is coming again...this time it attacked Ryan's Mommy. I was down with flu since last Friday. Asked hubby bought flu medicine (HURIX) which I took last time & can recover. After taking medicine for 1 day, my condition did not any improvement. I have headache on & off, whole body is pain. So I decided to go a doctor for injection yesterday night, hope can recover faster.

Since Friday night, Ryan was taking care by his daddy(after he off from his work),so I can have a rest. Whole friday night, I can't sleep well. My nose is blocked and kept turning my body left and right, juzt felt uncomfortable. On saturday morning, my condition seem getting better, I tried not to sit closely and hug Ryan, to protect him for getting my flu virus.(Last yr Dec when I was back to Medan, I was attacked by flu virus and Ryan kena flu from me..poor boy). Lucky the whole Saturday, Ryan was well-behaved. He played by himself and I on 'Doraemon' show for him to watch. During noon time, I asked him to take a nap and I told him to sleep by his own ( I was lying on my own bed while he was lying on his own mattress). I couldn't accompany him at his side as my flu seem came back again. I took a medicine again, but still the same. At night, hubby tapao dinner for us. After dinner, my condition seem getting worse. My head like want to pecah....so I told hubby that I need to go for a doctor. That's the best way to cure my flu virus. Frankly speaking, I also have a habit to visit doctor when I fall sick,of course, have to spend $$ on doctor. Eating pharmacy medicine seem no cure for me.My hubby wallet have to poke out RM54 for the whole medication.(2 medicine + 1 injection).
The doctor told me that the injection will cause drowsiness...but the whole night I also can't really sleep well. Kept waking up in the middle of the night, but I can feel that my condition is getting better. No more headache and my throat, body and nose seem comfortable. I have to make sure I am fully - recovered before playing again with Ryan as kid's body immune system is weaker than adult.

Pray for myself...Hope I will recover soon!!

Fried Long Bean & Chicken Soup

It has been long time I never blog about Ryan's food. Last 2 days I cooked Herbal Chicken Soup (Ching Liang Pu) and fried long bean (with dried scallop) for Ryan's lunch. Ryan like to eat any kind of vegetables. I am glad that he is not a picky eater kid. Whenever he sees some vegetables on the table, he will faster grab a spoon, climb up to the chair and start self feeding.Of course, I will always in a mess. So I better feed him rather than let him eat by himself.

Most of the time, Ryan will be eating rice + vege+ soup for lunch and dinner. Only once a while I will cook porridge for him. As he has been eating porridge since 6 mths old, It is time for him to taste other kind of food.
I am so lucky....most of the food I introduce to him, he likes it. Thumbs up!!!

I love McDonald

Yummy Yummy...you see I enjoyed eating McDonald, one of my favo food. Mommy always say this is an unhealthy food for me. But I just love eating this. Dun care ....keep putting french fries into my mouth. Nonstop....worry later mommy & daddy sapu all habis.

You see, my hand just can't stop taking the french fries, so hungry.....

Now it is time to drink Pepsi after eating nonstop...daddy said,OK, drink abit can. After that I saw a burger, so I tried eating mommy's burger. Oh....it is so yummy. Mommy & daddy must buy me McDonald frequently since I like eating it. Goshh@@@....

We try to limit fast food intake for Ryan, the most only once a month. Apart from McDonald, Ryan also like to eat KFC,yummy chicken meat, some more must eat with tomato sos.

Singapore Trip @ Sg Flyer

Backdated Post : 9 Dec '08

This is our 1st time been to Singapore Flyer. We choose to go there during night time as we believed the night view is THE BEST. Singapore Flyer offers a breathtaking panorama of the shimmering Marina Bay waterfront and historical landmarks dotting the city skyline.
The whole trip took about 45 mins, we can feel bit shaking when it turn to the top,we can see the Singapore night view so well and that is amazing. Never miss it out this place for all of you who is going to Singapore for holiday.

---------------------
9 great reasons to visit Singapore's most iconic attraction – Singapore Flyer.
It’s the world’s largest observation wheel.

Standing at stunning 165m, the Flyer is the height of a 42-storey building – that’s some 30 metres taller than the famed London Eye. Taking a flight on this S$240 million dollar wheel is a one-of-a-kind experience you wouldn’t want to miss.
It’s the only place to see Singapore’s magnificent cityscape.

As the wheel turns, you’ll be treated to a visual 360° feast of iconic and historical landmarks and views from the Marina Bay to the Singapore River, Raffles Place, Merlion Park, Empress Place and the Padang. There is no other place in Singapore that offers these breathtaking, panoramic views.
You’ll get to feast on famous local dishes.

Seafood Paradise @ Flyer, a popular restaurant among locals, serves up signature local dishes such as chilli crab, butter crab, cereal prawns and drunken prawns. Enjoy these authentic local dishes alongside innovative culinary creations by our local chefs.
You’ll get a taste of our gourmet capital.

If local food isn’t the fare for you, dine at any of the restaurants at the Flyer. The selection – from Indian fusion to Japanese delicacies and Italian epicurean – gives you a taste of why Singapore is the gourmet capital of Asia.
You’ll get to indulge in Singapore’s national pastime.

Food may be our nation’s passion, but it’s shopping that’s our national pastime. At the Flyer, you’ll be able to indulge a little in yourself. Jewellery, luxury watches, exquisitely handmade Japanese accessories and more await the avid shopper.
You’ll experience urban nature.

Right in the centre of the atrium is a lush, tropical rainforest. The cascading water displays, streams, rocky outcrops and pond fuse together naturally to offer a picturesque landscape for photo taking.
You’ll be able to fly – “for real”.

If being 165m above ground level in a capsule exhilarates you, fly like a real pilot in a flight simulator that has all the gadgets and gizmos found in real commercial airliners. The simulator isn't a toy, it's been approved by the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority for pilot training.
Your toes will be tickled by fishes.

On Level 2 is a fish foot spa - that’s right – it’s a spa where Doctor Fishes (“Garra Rufa”) work their magic on your feet. These fish, imported from Turkey, have healing properties and will give you a pedicure you won’t forget.
Your kids will have splashing wet fun.

Rest in the shade of the Greek Theatre located next to Singapore Flyer while your children frolic about our interactive water fountain. They'll have a blast with dancing water jets, shooting water cannons and water sprays at our cheery and colourful aqua playground.

Singapore Trip @ Sentosa Island

Backdated post : 8 Dec'08

We went to Sentosa Island on 8 Dec'08 after having our dinner. We reached there around 8pm n it was raining....bad day, we have to take umbrella all the way,so troublesome. Most of the places are close too. We only managed to catch a show called : Songs of the Sea.

The show were amazing ... we enjoyed alot & snapped alot of pictures. Although we have to hold on to umbrella during the whole show, it was such an interesting show & our eyes just stick to the show, hand also did not feel tired holding the umbrella. Ryan was getting excited looking at the show esp when spotlight flashed out fishes, etc.

After the show, we walked to Merlion. It was closed,so we only managed to snap some pictures outside the Merlion.

Then we headed back to Orchard Road to snap some x'mas decoration, before back to hotel for a rest.

Singapore Trip @ Merlion

Backdated Post : 9 Dec'08
We went to Merlion on 9 Dec'08 morning before Wanchin's family headed back to KL ....after having our breakfast, we straight forward went there by a cab. That was the 3rd day we have been walking around Singapore...so can imagine how tired were our feet, but we still full of energy to explore the unique of Singapore. Both Wanchin's family and ours family enjoyed our sweet moments in Singapore together. This is our 1st time having holiday together. Not to forget, we snapped some pictures for our sweet memories.

The History of Merlion :
The Merlion was first designed as an emblem for the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in 1964 – the lion head with a fish body resting on a crest of waves quickly became Singapore’s icon to the rest of the world.

Originally located at the Merlion Park by the Esplanade Bridge, the Merlion and the Cub became a popular tourist attraction for visitors. The installation ceremony took place on 15 September 1972, officiated by the then Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Today, the Merlion has found a new home just 120 metres away from its original location, adjacent to one Fullerton.

Measuring 8.6 metres high and weighing 70 tonnes, the Merlion statue was built from cement fondue by the late Singapore craftsman, Mr Lim Nang Seng. A second and smaller Merlion statue, measuring two metres high and weighing three tones, was also built by Mr Lim. The body was made of cement fondue, the skin from porcelain plates and eyes from small red teacups.

Designed by Mr Fraser Brunner, a curator of the Van Kleef Aquarium, the lion head represents the lion spotted by Prince Sang Nila Utama when he re-discovered Singapura in 11 AD, as recorded in the "Malay Annals". The fish tail of the Merlion symbolises the ancient city of Temasek (meaning “sea” in Javanese) by which Singapore was known before the Prince named it “Singapura” (meaning “lion” (singa) “city” (pura) in Sanskrit), and represents Singapore’s humble beginnings as a fishing village.
