Nervous...

I started to get nervous...as year 2011 is coming forward....Why Why Why?...
I am getting nervous because this coming 3 Jan,2011 Ryan will be entering his new school, another new environment for him and I pray hard that he will be able to adapt well in his new school.
Yesterday, I brought Ryan along to his new school to get some books, uniforms, sports wear and school bag. It is totally a new place for him...a new teacher, new classroom, new friends....everything is NEW to him.
I remembered well when I first entered Ryan for his nursery class this year 2010, it took about a month for him to adapt well and get himself feel comfortable with his environment. That experience really give me a hard time and I don't wish to get same experience again for this coming year.
For this whole month, I keep telling Ryan that he will be going to another new school and sometimes, I even drove by the school to show him whether exactly it is. He seem looks fine with it and telling me that 'he is a big boy now and have to go to big school'.

I guess I put too much pressure on myself..that's make me become so nervous and full of worries.
Any of you experience this kind of situation when your kid go to school for the very first time?
Let's share your thoughts with me...

My Angel haven't really attending any school yet but just reading your post makes me feeling nervous too!! :P :P But I guess that's every mommy's reaction UNTIL the day that we actually see them doing well at school I guess!

At the mean time, just don't pressure yourself too much as you can see, there were lots of kids attending new school with no problems and if there is, I am sure as time passes by, they will get use to it eventually, just like the time he first attending his kiddys.

Be brave too Ryan and makes mommy proud of you :) Keep us updated ya, who knows .... he'll surprise you with a smile that day :)

This is the excitement perhaps.. we feel our kids are getting bigger and soon, they will be left on their own for a few hours. It is a change in our lives...and there are many changes as years go by...
Yeah, meanwhile dont be so stressed, let each day come by itself.. beginning, it is always like that.. another month from now, u will look back and smile at your own nervousness! :)

Dont worry too much. Kids are very adjustable little creatures. They adapt quicker than we think :)

3 Jan will be a tough day for me too. As my elder is going to Primary 1 school in the afternoon and my younger is going to nursery in the morning, and I need to work. Besides, I have transferred their child care from the babysitter to my PIL. Everything is new to me, i really need to try very hard to quickly get into the new routine. On the other, I am working too.

I'm not just nervous....i'm almost got sick of it. It's just a preschool life for her but like i'm the one who going to attend the kiddy. Check on her uniform, bag, shoes, brain-wash her how the kiddy life would be. Gosshh...

Wow, parenting journey is really long and excited from what you had described. My girl is just 15months and there is still long way to go :)

Hi, hey....don't worry too much. He'll be fine. Boys adapt very fast. Give him 3 days he'll have fun.

Three Malaysian families migrated here past 9 months, all with young kids.
And from Malaysian schools to our Canadian schools a real big change.
Parents, like you nervous how their kids will adept to the huge change.

And you know what?
All the kids, believe it or not, not only exceeded their parents expectations but shocked their teachers and the principals.

All of them scoring above 90% in all their subjects!
My wife's niece's teen daughter, been here 6 months, topped her class, scoring 99.8% in maths and science, all others above 90%, as well 100%!

And they from Malaysia, here winter and all too.
So...relax, your kid will be fine.
Have a happy new year. Best regards, Lee.

At first I was worried about Gwen going to school for the first time but she adjusted really well. So, don't worry too much. I'm sure Ryan will adapt to school soon...just a matter of time.

How's he in the new sch? I'm sure he's doing fine. Coz he's a big boy edi (he told u that, rite?). Moreover, this is not his 1st time in a sch environment. He knows how a sch works. Dpn't worry, he'll make new frens n get used to the teachers in no time.
