New Dish - Brocoli

Brocoli is today menu for Ryan's dinner.Broccoli is very high in Vitamin C and is a great source of soluble fiber, it makes broccoli wonderful to add to baby food recipes.
I cooked the brocoli with Japanese tofu and add some sliced pork. First I cut the brocoli into small pieces, then soak in salt water to get rid of any dirty stuffs stucked inside the vege for about 1 hour (tips from my sis). Then I boiled the brocoli in hot water,so that they will become soft and can maintain the greenish look. It is best not to stir fried the brocoli very long after you have boiled it, coz its colour will become yellowish and does not looks fresh. Brocoli is Ryan's favo vegetable, normally I will cook it with porridge as well.

***Happy Tuesday ***

Haha. That was the first mistake I made when I first tried cooking. My brocolli became soaky and yellowish. EEkkkkk.....Now, it's just boiling them in hot water and STIR fried before serving. One of my favourite vege...Will definitely come back for your recipes when Ryan is ready for his solid food.

Nice recipe.

When I cook porridge, I normally cook the brocoli separately to avoid the brocoli become yellowish.

I will use blender to blender the brocoli then add into the porridge later....a bit kiasu, want to save all the brocoli vitamin!! :-)

Another way to keep broccoli's greeness is to add some sugar when boiling them. This way it will be green and crunchy!

So nice and yummy! I also like to cook brocolli with prawn for my meal.

So normally when you prepared Ryan's meal, is that means that your and your husband will be sharing the same meal too?

Joanne - I seldom cook brocoli with prawn..may give a try nextime.
Normally the balance of the dishes will be eaten by me n hubby. Normally I will cook 1 dish only for Ryan's dinner and the rest is cooked by MIL(provided mil is at home).

Slavemom - the brocoli won't be salty coz u still need to cook it after that.

Peiwun - Tq for the tag.

Agnes - Tq for the award.
